Cafe history  

The Blackshed was built back in 1910 by the Birmingham navigation company for a local flour mill to store grain coming in from Sharpness docks. The mill paid £250 to have it built and paid £12 a year ground rent after it's completion. 
In November 1915 the war office requisitioned The Blackshed, it's land and the surrounding area. The Blackshed and the adjoining wharf were reinforced in order to store equipment. 
The Shed was used by the government until 1917 when it was handed back to the flour mill owners and used for its original purpose for many years until it was no longer needed. 
In the mid 60's The Blackshed was brought back to life and has since been used for a variety of ventures, including a camping and outdoor sports shop and most recently as a cafe/bar. 
The current owners took the Blackshed on in 2017, carrying out extensive works to bring it out of disrepair, culminating with the cafe/bar as it is now, a hub of exciting activities.

The Black Shed Filler 
Our big breakfast! It consists of two rashers of bacon, a sausage, black pudding, two hash browns, mushrooms, an egg, tomatoes, beans and a slice of toast. 
This includes a cup of tea or coffee. 
Shed's Veggie Filler 
For the veggies! Consisting of Vegetarian Sausages, two eggs, two hash browns, a double helping of tomatoes, mushrooms, beans and a slice of toast. 
This includes a cup of tea of coffee.

Hunters Chicken  
Chicken breast wrapped in bacon & cheese in a BBQ sauce, served with your choice of new potatoes or mash potato & garden peas
Plenty of Pie 
Choose from Chicken & Mushroom, Steak & Kidney or Vegetarian pie served your choice of new potatoes or mash potato & garden peas
Bangers & Mash 
Three pork sausages with mash potato, onion gravy & garden peas. 
Locally sourced pork meatballs with your choice of new potatoes or mash, in an onion gravy with garden peas. 
Ham, Egg, Chips & Peas 
Two slices of locally sourced ham, two eggs, chunky gourmet chips & garden peas. 
Christmas Meal (limited time, subject to availability) 
Turkey or chicken, served with mash, carrots, pigs in blankets, stuffing, gravy, yorkshire pudding & peas.
